When I was younger, I thought having a car meant having to spend less on commutes and public transportation.
It seemed like the most ideal “investment” to be able to save on getting from point A to point B while staying comfortable.
Now that I have owned cars, I got to experience how:
- Monthly amortization costs are annoying
- Car maintenance costs are insanely high
- The additional car services (e.g. car washes) you have to incur add up
- The rising prices of gasoline is just too much
Now, I realized how really expensive it is to own cars.
All for the sake of convenience, security and comfort, I pretty much had to trade the expensive cost of owning one.
It is still worth it though… so far.
Just expensive.
